Can this camera work as a camcorder?
No. Car DVR’s are made to work off of the power of the car once that is removed the camera will stop working very shortly due to the short internal battery. -
D28RS & D26RS - Where do I find the serial number of my unit?
You can find the serial number for your unit etched into the plastic above the buttons on the camera part of the unit. -
D28RS - Do I have to turn off my Bluetooth to connect through WiFi?
No. When connecting the app, there will be a pop up prompt that states “Turn off Bluetooth to enhance video preview?”. The app will connect even if No is selected. -
D28RS - Do I have to use the app for my camera to work?
No, the app can be used but it is not necessary for the camera to function properly. -
D28RS - I can't find the password. What is it?
The password is 1234567890, this can be found on the camera in menu options under CARCAM and in the user guide under Menu Options, System Settings, PWD. -
D28RS - The app keeps telling me there is no device found. What should I do?
Please make sure all permissions are accepted and location services are turned on in the phone. -
D28RS - The screen pops up and says connecting but doesn't connect. What should I do?
If you have not selected Auto Reconnect on your phone, it will be necessary to go to the wifi settings on your phone each time you connect to the app. Once connected a box will pop up letting you know that internet may not be available. Then the camera will automatically start to record. -
How do I change the D2200 from split screen to full screen mode?
Once the unit is turned on press and hold down the menu button for 2-3 seconds in which time the display will switch to full screen. To switch the unit back to split screen follow the same procedure. -
Press menu button 2x’s until it is in General Settings. Press right arrow key until you reach Format. It will ask “All data will be deleted?” Choose “Ok”.

I charged the camera but when I unplug the camera it immediately turns off. What should I do?
Dash cameras only have a very small battery life which is used to prevent corruption from loss of power. The camera must be plugged in to a power source for use. -
My DVR doesn't recognize the SD card, what should I do?
If the unit doesn’t recognize the card, remove the SD card and insert again. If still not recognized, the SD card may be damaged or device doesn’t support this type of memory card. Try another memory card. (SanDisk recommended) -
My DVR isn't recording or allowing me to take pictures.
Confirm that your SD card is of the proper class depending on your unit and that it has available capacity. -
My DVR keeps turning itself off then back on, what gives?
Make sure you are using the card that came with the unit or a recommended card. Using a card that is either too high in memory or too low or the wrong class can cause this problem. My DVR won't overwrite previous recordings.
Usually this will occur if the videos are locked. You will have to take the SD card out of the unit and delete the videos on your computer. -

What is Motion Detection and what does it do?
If the camera is hardwired or using an always-on power port in the vehicle, the motion detection will record a short video when motion is detected in front of the camera. -
What is the Black and White Function?
On cameras that have the Black & White function, when the camera detects low light it will change the video from color to black and white so more detail my be seen. Once it detects more light, it will switch back to color video. -
What is the G Sensor and what does it do?
In the event of an incident the G-Sensor will lock (protect) this file from being overwritten and it will stay on the SD card. This means important clips will not be deleted during loop recording. These files sometimes found in a different file on the SD card depending on the dash camera. -
What is the Parking Monitor and what does it do?
When the vehicle is parked and the camera turned off, it will monitor for vibrations. If a vibration is detected, the camera will turn on then take a short video before turning itself back off. These files are automatically locked. -
Why does my D2200 say Mass Storage in my car?
When you use the USB in your vehicles it will show mass storage because it recognizes it as a data connection. You will have to use the cord that plugs into the 12 volt outlet.
